Dreams

Taken by Willy Ronis.
You can find this picture at www.skjstudio.com/ronis/
I choose this photo because everything is in focus, yet your focus is mainly only on the woman crossing the street. Also, the background is foggy. I think that it reminds me of a dream because as you look further back into the photograph, it gets harder to recognize what everything is. it reminds me of a flashback a person would have in a dream.

Dreams

You can find this photograph on google.
This photograph reminds me of a dream because  there is so much going on and you don't fully understand it. I never understand my dreams, and why things are happening, so this photograph is relate-able to me.

Dreams

Taken by Man Ray.
I found this at www.hunch.com/photographers/man-ray/1778583/
I chose this photo because it is two different images, and the only thing connecting them is the woman's hand slighting intersecting the line between the two images. It reminds me of a dream-like image because it almost looks like the woman herself is in a dream-like state, and is dreaming of what the top image is.

This photograph relates to the topic dreams, because its very dark and erie. Its foggy, and its hard to understand what is going on in the photo.

Abstract

Photograph taken by Ciro Tutku.
Can find this at www.totku.com
I chose this photo because  I cannot tell what it is. It reminds me of a beach water and sand. There is a lot of texture and shapes in the photograph, but its not overbearing because everything is the same color.

This photograph is interesting to me because the window divides the picture into four section. Each section you look though, is different, but they are all cohesive with each other.

I  chose this photo because it reminds of a landscape painting, but then when you look closely, you realize its just a screw and some scratches on a surface.

Light

Taken by Harry Callahan.
Found from photography-now.net
The light is the most important element in this photograph. The light illuminates the two figures walking in the street. It also creates a dark mood because everything except part of the sidewalk and the figures are black. The light also creates shadows of the figures.

Light

Taken by Harry Callahan.
Found it from photography-now.net
The natural sunlight is a really important element in this photo. The highlights on the figure's back, and the high contrast between the walls and the woman figure is what really makes this photo special.

Light

This was taken by Sally Mann.
Found it from Sally Mann Immediate Family book. Can also find image on google images.
The light in this photo is important because it gives the photo a more serious and darker mood. The light illuminates the child's face and parts of the body, but makes the adult mostly a silhouette . The way the light falls on the child more than on the adult, indicates that the main focus is on the kid.

Found it from photography-now.net
The light is what makes this photograph so moody by the way the shadows fall across her body and the blanket. Also, by the way the sunlight illuminates one half of her face.
