I don't necessarily think that this is a unsuccessful photograph, but it is one of my least favorites of Shore's work. I think what turns me off about this photo is that it seems like hes trying too hard to let color be present. In his other photographs, it seems more natural, and the color adds to the composition and mood of the photograph. though this photograph seems strategic, and the colors compliment each other, i think it still reads to me that he was looking for color rather than looking for the subject - whether or not that was the case.
